About Evadya
Evadya is an independent Belgian portal devoted to the vegetable garden and the orchard: growing, eating well, living well.
Evadya was born of a simple conviction: a vegetable garden, however small, changes the way you eat, the way you pace your weeks and the way you look at the weather.
What you will find here
Clear growing guides for the vegetables and fruit that genuinely succeed in the Belgian climate, a month-by-month calendar that tells you what to sow, plant and harvest, and, for every plant, a step sideways towards the plate: what it brings you, how to cook it simply, and the pleasure there is in growing it.
An approach without chemicals, without dogma
We favour the practices that protect the soil and the life it shelters: mulching, compost, rotations, companion planting, well-suited varieties. No pesticides, no miracle recipes, just observation and patience.
Designed for Belgium
The dates you read here take account of our hesitant springs, the Ice Saints (mid-May frosts), mild summers and long autumns. When a crop needs shelter, a greenhouse or a south-facing wall, we say so.
Who is behind Evadya?
